Looking for something different to take to your next barbecue or pool party? This Vidalia Onion Dip is the perfect bake and take dish! With only 4 ingredients, you can keep these items on hand to throw this easy dip together anytime a party pops up!
A sweet friend of mine used to always bring the BEST appetizers to all of our gatherings. Her onion dip quickly became my favorite! When we moved away from each other a few years ago, I knew that I had to have this dip to take and share with others. I now keep these 4 simple ingredients on hand just in case I need to throw something together last minute! The best part- this isn’t something you will usually see on the buffet table, so you don’t have to worry about bringing the same thing as someone else- but if you do…there won’t be any problems making it all disappear because it is THAT GOOD!
What is a Vidalia Onion?
Vidalia onions are much more milder and sweeter than other onions. Sweet onions are typically around 12% sugar, while other onions are 5% sugar. These onions don’t have to pungent taste that other onions can have, and thankfully these won’t make you cry!
Can I use a different type of onion for this recipe?
We recommend only using sweet onions for this recipe. Any other type of onion would not give the dip the sweet flavor that makes it so good! Walla Walla and Texas Sweets are two other types of sweet onions if you cannot find Vidalia Onions!
