Shredded Buffalo Chicken Tacos

This recipe combines the ease of precooked shredded chicken with the zesty taste of chicken wings for one satisfying and simple meal.

Whenever possible, we try to keep things fresh because that’s just our typical preference. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t peruse the precooked section at times! We came across this package of shredded chicken and it has become a life saver. When I get home from substitute teaching at 4:00 and have to be at soccer at 5:30, there isn’t a whole lot of time to whip together a lot of meals. *THIS* recipe makes me feel like I’m making a great dinner on the go thats flavorful and unique while simple and stress-free!

What side dish goes with buffalo chicken?

There are so many different sides you can use to pair with our Shredded Buffalo Chicken Tacos. Some of our favorite side dishes include baked potatoes, onion rings, steamed green beans, homemade macaroni and cheese, our chickpea and edamame salad, baked beans, pasta salad, and french fries. Options….oh the options!

Why do they call it buffalo sauce?

This tasty item originated in Buffalo, New York with most foodie historians indicating buffalo wings probably were first served in the Anchor Bar there. A couple named Frank and Teressa Bellissimo owned that bar, which they had purchased in 1939. Buffalo wings are traditionally served hot, along with celery sticks and carrot sticks with blue cheese dressing for dipping.

  • Pulled Chicken
  • Tortillas
  • Ranch Dressing
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Frank’s Buffalo Sauce

How to make Shredded Buffalo Chicken Tacos:

Heat the chicken according to the directions on the box.

Once cooked, pour into a bowl and shred with two forks.

Next, pour Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Sauce all over the chicken. Mix thoroughly.

Spread a layer of blue cheese dressing on your tortilla. You can also use ranch if you prefer! Pile high with desired amount of meat and top with sharp cheddar cheese.

It’s always to nice to have a recipe in your arsenal that gets you through the time-crunch you sometimes find yourself in. This is the one! Although it is easy and quick, you don’t have to sacrifice delicious flavors. Best part is that you can tailor the toppings to your own tastes. Shredded Buffalo Chicken Tacos

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 package Precooked Pulled Chicken
  • 6 Flour tortillas
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Ranch or Blue Cheese Dressing
  • 1/2 - 1 cup Frank's Buffalo Sauce

Instructions

  1. Warm chicken according to directions on package.
  2. In a bowl, shred chicken and pour Frank's Buffalo Hot Sauce over chicken (about 1/2-1 cup). Stir.
  3. On a tortilla, spread a layer of blue cheese dressing You can also use ranch if you prefer!
  4. Add desired amount of meat
  5. Top with cheddar cheese.
  6. Serve immediately with a side of celery and carrots.
  7. Enjoy!
