Who can say no to Best Everything Bagel Seasoning??! Not this girl! We took it to the next level and made our Everything Bagel Dip! It is so creamy and flavorful, and pairs great with crackers, pretzels or veggies! Perfect for a party of after school snack, it only takes 6 ingredients, mixed in one bowl and baked to perfection!
What does Everything Bagel Seasoning taste like?
Everything bagel seasoning is comprised of several seasonings including poppy, caraway, and sesame seeds, plus salt, garlic, and onion. It is a strong flavor that is super versatile. The garlic and onion flavors really pop and the salt is just enough to hit that craving you have.
Why is it called everything bagel?
Per the website NPR, David Gussin of Queens says he invented the “everything” bagel sometime around 1980, when, in a stroke of inspiration, he married poppy seeds with sesame seeds, salt, onion and more. The next day, he said to a coworker, ‘Hey, Charlie, instead of throwing them away, put this on a bagel and call it the “everything.”‘
Last year, we came up with own Everything Bagel Seasoning. We modeled it after Trader Joe’s version (because it’s our favorite) and because our closest TJs is 2.5 hours away! I wanted to use it more than just as a topper on avocado toast or my cream cheese bagels. This recipe took a little bit of trial and error to get the flavor just right, and we 100% determined that it was best nice and hot out of the oven. We found the flavors married so much better after being baked. My kids love it on the their carrots and broccoli and I love it on my bagel chips or pretzels. The dipper-choice is entirely up to you.
Ingredients for our Everything Bagel Dip:
- Cream cheese
- Monterey Jack Cheese
- Everything Bagel Seasoning
- Dijon Mustard
- Red Pepper
How to make our Everything Bagel Dip:
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Set cream cheese out to soften. Place in a bowl and soften in the microwave if you don’t have time to let it happen naturally. You will want it to stir easily.
Once softened, add all ingredients to one bowl and blend until completely combined.
Bake, Uncovered, for 25 minutes and serve!
You can’t get much easier than this. Mix, bake, and serve! Once made, this will keep for 3-4 days refrigerated. Just reheat in the microwave IF you end up with leftovers. You can also use this as a spread if you wanted on a bagel or toast! Its versatile so you can put it on really whatever your heart desires!

- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1/4 C mayo
- 8 oz monterey jack cheese
- 2 tsp Everything seasoning
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp ground red pepper
