Creamy, delicious and only 5 ingredients! This Greek Tzatziki Sauce is an easy way to add an extra flavor to just about anything! Great to use for dipping, coating or as a salad dressing, this is one sauce you will want to keep in your fridge at all times!
If you are anything like my family, adding a “dip” to dinner makes everyone happy! My kids started enjoying this creamy sauce during one of our many, many trips to one of our favorite restaurants, Zoes Kitchen. I decided to come up with my own recipe so they can eat it at home with vegetables, pita bread or Greek Chicken pitas. You can make this in minutes and the ingredients are things I usually already have in my fridge and pantry!
Is this made like traditional Tzatziki?
This recipe is our version of a classic. Traditionally, tzatziki is made with a Greek yogurt base. I chose to use sour cream and mayo in our recipe because those are two items I always have on hand! You can easily sub the two out for 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt.
How long can I store this in the refrigerator?
I recommend that you store this sauce no longer than 3 days in the refrigerator. It is not recommended to freeze this sauce.
Ingredients for our Greek Tzatziki Sauce
- 1 TBS Lemon Juice
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 1/2 large Cucumber
- 1 TBS Dried Dill Weed
How to make our Greek Tzatziki Sauce
First, place all ingredients in a food processor or blender.
Next, blend until smooth or you have reached your desired consistency. If you prefer your tzatziki with texture, you may reserve 1/3 of cucumber to dice and stir it into mixture after blending.
Place blended mixture in a container with a lid or cap and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
I hope you and your family and friends enjoy this quick and easy sauce! It is a nice break from a traditional ranch dressing while still providing a creamy and full of flavor dressing or dip. With simple ingredients you will be able to whip this together for last minute guests or a dip for an easy after school snack!
