This Easy Mango Salsa is light and fresh. Juicy mangoes, sweet and crunchy bell peppers, flavorful cilantro and a tad of heat from jalapenos are just a few of the ingredients that help make this salsa taste so good! We created this salsa with one idea in mind, and it has quickly become a staple in the house- it goes great with so many things, or even on its own!
A friend of mine and I are always looking for delicious ways to stay healthy, especially during the week. Lunchtime at home can become monotonous very fast! We were getting so tired of the same old same old slices of turkey with a small salad that we decided to step things up a bit! This mango salsa was born! We started adding it to the turkey and treat it like tortilla free wrap. It was absolutely delicious! We started using it as a topping for everything! Some days, I just dish out a bowl of this wonderful salsa all by itself!
What goes with Mango Salsa?
Personally, I think it goes great on just about everything! Some of ways we eat it are:
- With chips as a traditional salsa
- A delicious filling for a turkey wrap
- Heaped on top of grilled chicken or fish
- Fish Tacos
- As a salad “dressing”
- On its own as salad
How do I cut a mango?
I will let you in on a little secret…slicing a mango is one of my very least favorite things!!! Fortunately for me, most grocery stores near me sell this delicious fruit already sliced, and sometimes even diced! I prefer to buy it in spears and dice it myself, if possible! If you aren’t lucky enough to be able to buy it pre-sliced, this is a great video tutorial for cutting it yourself. I promise it really isn’t that hard, I just love not having the extra step!
Can I freeze mango salsa?
Although it is perfectly safe to freeze this salsa, we recommend that you make it and enjoy it within a couple of days. A big part of what makes this salsa so delicious is the texture. The mango is best when it is juicy yet still firm and the bell peppers are great with a light crunch to them. If mangoes are not in season and a craving strikes, you can definitely use frozen mango chunks, just know that there is nothing quite like eating it fresh!

How to make our Easy Mango Salsa
Using a cutting board, dice mango into bite sized pieces.

Squeeze the juice from 1 lime and 1/2 of a lemon.
Stir to mix all ingredients. Allow to refrigerate for 30 minutes to achieve maximum flavor!
We hope you enjoy this simple to throw together and enjoy salsa as much as we have! We find ourselves looking for ideas that we can make and incorporate this as part of the dish. If you like things with a little extra heat, try replacing the jalapeno with a habenero…the sweet heat is the best!
