About once a month, we make homemade pizza. My husband and I always like one with a combination of pesto, artichoke, and cheese. Making pizza requires more time than I have sometimes so I wanted to make something that I could enjoy more frequently, especially when time is at a minimum. Our Cheesy Pesto Bread is already half way done when you open the package! Adding three super delicious ingredients in less than 5 minutes is totally what this recipe is about.

What does pesto taste like?

Typically pesto is made with basil, pecorino Romano cheese, pine nuts, garlic and good, olive oil. There are great recipes out there to make your own! (We love this one!) When making our own, we substitute parmesan sometimes for the Romano cheese and add some garlic.

Are artichokes healthy?

You betcha! Artichokes rank among the most antioxidant-rich of all vegetables. One medium artichoke contains almost 7 grams of fiber. Also, artichokes are low in fat while rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. They are also fairly high in folate and vitamins C and K! Bottom line – these are a great addition to most diets!

This is such a great option for an easy dinner or a custom appetizer for a party that you need to create on the fly. We found that we used Bertoli Pasta Sauce for dipping vs pizza sauce and it was fantastic! Altogether, this recipe takes less than 15 minutes from start to finish. We love pairing it with our Chicken Marsala Florentine and our Apple Butter Chicken!
