There is restaurant in my town that we frequent almost weekly. They make a killer fish taco that always has this amazing sauce drizzled on it. Over the last few months, I’ve been trying to dissect the exact flavors and I think I have finally figured it out! As much as I love going out to eat, I’m so excited to have this recipe in my arsenal now. I added a little sriracha to it because we love a little spice and the dynamic profile that hot sauce adds to the overall flavor.

What is sriracha sauce and is there a substitute?

Sriracha sauce is a type of hot sauce that is made up of chili peppers, sugar, salt, vinegar, and garlic. It is a common condiment, like ketchup, in Asian countries. A comparable substitute for sriracha sauce would be tabasco sauce, Frank’s hot sauce, or even certain fish sauces.

What is aioli good on?

Aioli can be treated like any other condiment you may use. It works deliciously on poultry and fish, tater tots, french fries, burgers, chicken sandwiches, roasted vegetables, and even eggs. It is great as a dipping sauce or as a spread.

  • Mayonnaise
  • Onion Salt
  • Paprika
  • Lemon Juice

How to make our Simple Sriracha Aioli Recipe:

In a bowl, combine the fresh squeezed juice and mayonnaise together. Whisk together until fully combined.

Next, add the minced garlic, sriracha, onion salt and paprika. Stir. Cover tightly and store in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. This allows all the flavors to come together and marinate.

You can serve right away but the flavors will enhance over time and get better and better!

Simple Sriracha Aioli Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons sriracha
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon minced Garlic

Instructions

  1. In a medium size bowl, add mayonnaise and fresh lemon juice. Whisk together.
  2. Add remaining ingredients: onion salt, paprika, garlic, and sriracha.
  3. Stir completely.
  4. Serve right away or cover and allow to set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Enjoy!
