Simple, tart, and perfectly sweet, our Easy Cranberry Sauce is sure to please this holiday season. Best of all… it’s only 4 ingredients!! So when making those morning mimosas, save a splash of OJ for this baby right here. In less than 15 minutes, you can have this delicious side ready to serve and enjoy.
Homemade cranberry sauce was never something I grew up with. The only cranberry we had at our holiday tables was straight from the jar. I honestly didn’t know there was anything different! Over the years, I’ve tried so many that I’ve felt were good – especially compared to the canned version – but none that I just loved. We came up with this recipe by just keeping it fresh, simple, and healthy. There is less sugar than most recipes out there and the ingredients are so minimal. It makes this mom’s heart happy to have a combination like that turn out so tasty!
How long will homemade cranberry sauce keep?
You can store cranberry sauce in the refrigerator for about 10 days. Keep it in a closed container and you should be able to enjoy it until the last bite!
Do you serve cranberry sauce hot or cold?
Technically you can eat in any way you would like! We personally prefer to eat it chilled, but if you would like to enjoy it as soon as you have finished preparing it, feel free to dive in!
What else does cranberry sauce go with?
Most people associate cranberry sauce with holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, but we are here to tell you this is a dish you can enjoy all year long! It is delicious on a charcuterie board, spread across a slice of toast, on a tasty brie or even as a glaze for pork or chicken!
Ingredients for Easy Cranberry Sauce:
- 2 Cups Fresh Cranberries
- 1 Cup Orange Juice (pulp-free)
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
How to make:
Wash cranberries thoroughly.
Place sauce pan on burner and turn heat to medium.
Place all ingredients in pan and stir to combine.
Stir frequently and allow to cook for approximately 10 minutes. Cranberries will start popping about 5 minutes in. If the are popping loudly, turn heat down a little.
You will know the sauce is done when the mixture is a dark, rich red, and is thick.
Allow to sit for 3-5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
I feel like there aren’t enough times throughout the year that we get to make and enjoy cranberry sauce. It is such a great addition to sandwiches, meats, hot rolls, toasted bagels…. so many things! We made a GREAT Baked Brie that uses our Easy Cranberry Sauce and it is a hit we definitely recommend! Enjoy the holidays with your people and maybe a little of this yummy goodness too 🙂
