What should I serve with Brown Sugar Pork Chops?
Most vegetables go great with this dish! We love to use broccoli because it does a good job of soaking up the juices from the meat. Roasted potatoes or sweet potatoes are also a great accompaniments.
I don’t have a cast iron skillet, can I still make this dish?
Absolutely! If you have a pan that is safe for use on the stove and in the oven, use that! Otherwise, while preheating the oven, place an oven safe dish inside to warm it and then transfer your ingredients to it after you have placed the brown sugar on the pork. Cook as normal. Same concept with just a few more dishes!
What temperature should the pork chops be when they are ready?
Make sure the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145 degrees. The FDA suggested temperature guidelines for pork chops is between 145 to 160 degrees.
How to make Brown Sugar Glazed Pork:
Preheat oven to 350.
First, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, black pepper and salt in a small bowl. Stir and combine.
Next, sprinkle spices all over both sides of pork chops.

In a cast iron skillet, heat oil (olive oil preferred) over medium high heat.
Add pork chops to the cast iron skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on both sides, just until browned.
Next, reduce heat to low and add 1 tablespoon of brown sugar to the top of each pork chop. Turn pork chops over to cover both sides.

Remove from heat and place skillet in preheated oven and bake for 15- 20 minutes, or until center reaches 175 degrees.

Place pork chops on plate and pour liquid from skillet on top.
Serve and enjoy!

I love being able to whip up an easy side dish to accompany these pork chops. While these are baking in the oven, it’s simple to make some rice, bake some yummy vegetables, or throw together an easy walnut and spinach salad. Jump on over to another great blogger’s site and make her awesome and simple sautéed spinach! Bottom line: these pair well with so many things and are simple to make. Enjoy!
