Oatmeal, almond butter, coconut and chocolate chips combine with honey to make the best.snack.ever! Our Almond Butter Energy Bites are simple to make and the perfect solution for busy mornings when you’re on the go. They are also a fantastic snack to grab when you are running out the door for work, practice, or the gym!

My kids don’t always like to eat oatmeal the traditional way to get their whole grains. They also rarely consume enough fiber on a daily basis. We created these protein bites because it combines the nutritious whole grains of oatmeal with flaxseed fiber while also containing natural sweetness from a touch of honey. My kids honestly think I’m letting them get away with something they shouldn’t be eating in the mornings. Little do they know that I’m providing them with the fuel they need for a great day!
What is almond butter good for?
Almond butter is a good source of the healthy monounsaturated fats our bodies need. These fats are good because they can help with weight loss, reduce the risk of heart disease and decrease inflammation. Eating almonds offers antioxidant action from Vitamin E and helps lower cholesterol. Almond butter also has 3.4 grams of protein per tablespoon. Bonus: almonds are also a good source of vitamin C!
What is an energy ball/bite?
Our energy balls have a fantastic combination of protein, healthy fats, carbohydrates and fiber. Energy balls are portable, so they are the perfect healthy on-the-go snack before or after your workout or when you are trying to do breakfast on the run! Energy balls can be made with many different ingredients and can be tailored to your specific needs.

Ingredients for our Almond Butter Energy Bites:

These almond butter energy bites are a great throw-and-go snack and super simple to make. The ingredients are so easy to throw together that you can whip this up in between loads of laundry, as you prep dinner, or while you are waiting for the water to boil. They aren’t too sticky that they make a mess (I can trust my seven and eight year old shape them) but are just sticky enough allow you to easily mold each bite in less than 30 seconds!
