Can you make meatballs without egg?
Yes! The main purpose of the eggs in this mixture is to act as a binding agent. They help all the ingredients stick together. In the absence of eggs, the combination of breadcrumbs and milk will work to bind your meatballs together. Using milk and breadcrumbs is also a good trick to cooking a more tender meatballs.
Do cooked meatballs freeze well?
Yes! We highly recommend to freeze cooked meatballs over raw ones because they are much easier to thaw and reheat that way. Most meatballs that are frozen in the freezer can last up to three months if stored well, in an airtight container.
Can I freeze cooked meatballs in sauce?
Absolutely! If you prefer to freeze the meatballs in the sauce they should freeze without problems. Just leave out the pasta. After cooking your meatballs, add the sauce and mix, then cool and chill the meatball mixture as quickly as possible and then transfer to airtight containers and freeze for up to 3 months.
