What can you substitute red pepper flakes with?
You can substitute cayenne pepper. The ratio you want to use is 1/2 tsp cayenne for every 3/4 tsp of red pepper flakes. The reason is that cayenne pepper has much smaller granules and pack more of an over all punch than the red pepper flakes.
What is everything but the bagel seasoning?
This seasoning is appropriately called Everything BUT the bagel seasoning, which you can find in the spice aisle of many grocery stores. The blend includes 6 ingredients: both white and black sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sea salt flakes, dried garlic, and dried onions. The most common use is to season your cream cheese, if you’re stuck with a plain bagel. It is wonderful on avocado toast, almond butter toast, cauliflower rice, chicken, salads – anything!

- Sea salt
- Black Sesame Seeds
- Minced Garlic
- Minced Onion
- Crushed Red Pepper
- Poppy Seeds
- White Sesame Seeds
How to make our Spicy Everything Bagel Seasoning:
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together.
Store in an air-tight container for up to 12 months!
There are so many times that I have made a quick breakfast and it unfortunately devoid of any real good flavors. Bagel and plain cream cheese. Plain avocado toast. Plain oatmeal. - 2 TBS Sesame Seeds
- 2 TBS Dried Minced Onion
- 2 TBS Black Sesame Seeds
- 4 TBS Poppy Seeds
- 2 TBS Minced Garlic
- 4 tsp Sea Salt
- 2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
- Measure out all ingredients and add to a mixing bowl.
- Stir to combine.
- Serve! Store in a airtight container for up to 6 months!
