I’m going to let you in on a little secret…I don’t normally like Nutella! I know, I know, that is an actual sin to some of you, but for some reason it has just never done it for me! My kids would lick the jar if I would let them, but I just never saw the appeal…UNTIL this! One night, the kids were looking for a little after dinner treat this is what we came up with…initially we didn’t grill them on the panini press, but this small added step took these to a whole new level of deliciousness! Now we eat them at all times of the day!

I don’t have a panini press! How do I make these?

Have no fear! You can still make these just as you would a grilled cheese. We like to use a cast iron skillet and a plate to apply a little of pressure to the top of the croissant before flipping over to grill the other side!

What is Nutella?

For those of you who have still not heard of this chocolatey spread, Nutella is a Hazelnut cocoa spread that is sweetened and creates a delicious topping for breads, waffles, pancakes and croissants!

Place sides together and place on a hot panini press or skillet. Grill until slightly golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and grill other side and additional 2-3 minutes.

Croissant on panini press

Don’t be afraid to put more than one croissant on the press at the same time, otherwise you won’t be able to keep up with the demand 😉

Remove from grill or stove and serve immediately. These are perfect on their own, but a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side is never a bad idea!

The kids get so excited when they see a package of croissants on the kitchen counter! They know that more than likely means there will be enough of them leftover to whip up a couple of these sweet sandwiches for dessert! Did I mention bananas are also a yummy choice instead of (or in addition to) strawberries? The possibilities are endless!
