Jalapeño Popper Pinwheel anyone??! These are just WOW! 5 simple ingredients come together as a new twist on a classic favorite! These Incredible Baked Jalapeño Popper Rolls are perfect as an appetizer for any event or merely a side dish for dinner tonight. Crunchy bacon and spicy jalapeños are delicious when wrapped in a soft, warm casing of crescent roll dough. Don’t miss out on this one!
I love making traditional Jalapeño Poppers in my house. Unfortunately, I don’t always have the time to cut and clean the jalapeños, stuff them, wrap them, wait for them to bake, then eat. That’s when this recipe came to me! This has the same great signature ingredients, but in a super easy form with a delicious flakey crust. The part that makes this so easy also is using this ——> pre-cooked bacon. It cut my cook time in half and made this ready in less than 25 minutes!
Do I have to use precooked bacon?
Absolutely not! When I have the option (and time), I always go for the good thick-cut bacon. I love a nice crispy piece, fresh off the skillet. However, precooked bacon is an excellent option for time-saving. In this specific dish, the bacon takes 15 seconds to heat in the microwave, and 15 seconds to rough-chop before tossing into the cream cheese mixture. It is a total home run when you need to save time!
Can I use fresh jalapeño peppers?
Absolutely. Fresh jalapeños will give this appetizer a really good crunch in the over all texture. You can also regulate the heat a little more, but adding or completely removing the seeds. You can always add a little bit more than 4 ounces as well, so that the flavor is stronger.
Ingredients for our Incredible Baked Jalapeño Popper Rolls:
- Bacon
- Cream Cheese
- Jalapeños
- Pizza Dough
- Cheddar Cheese
How to make our Incredible Baked Jalapeño Popper Rolls:
Preheat oven to 400 F.
In a bowl, combine 1 block of room temperature cream cheese, 1 cup of cheese, crumbled bacon, and drained diced jalapeños. Mix completely.
On a flour-dusted surface, roll out the can of pizza dough until even and thin. Next, add the cream cheese mixture to the dough and spread out in a nice, even layer. Stop about 1/2 inch from all the sides so that the contents stayed contained in the dough once you roll it up.
Starting on the long side, roll until the dough is in a long, loaf-like shape. Using a serrated knife, cut the loaf into 14-16 evenly sliced pieces.
Place on a greased baking sheet and cook for 15-18 minutes, until the tops get nice and brown.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes and serve!
One of the best things about these little pinwheels is that they can fit into any occasion. Having a football party? Done. Appetizer for Christmas? Here ya go. Church gathering? Serve ’em up. They are so effortless and are always the first dish to go. It’s a classic combination of ingredients that can never go wrong. Pair it with my Sparkling Apple Cider Sangria this holiday season for a winning cocktail hour!
