  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion salt
  • 4 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp cayenne
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder

Why make a homemade all-purpose seasoning?

All-purpose seasonings are everywhere. They come in so many varieties that its hard to count! A lot of companies put MSG in their all-purpose recipes to try to enhance flavors – gross! Additionally, a lot of companies also amp up the amount of salt they add. Our Fresh Simple Home Seasoning eliminates both of those issues. We buy herbs that don’t have MSG as well as really down playing the role of salt. PLUS- you can even customize this recipe if you want to make this salt-free! Merely substitute onion powder for onion salt and leave out the teaspoons of salt. Easy! We find we like the little bit of salt though. Personal preference!

There are plenty of times that my kiddos choose to be picky with what they eat. One of their favorite things is buttered noodles. As good as those are, all I have to do is add a little parmesan and our Fresh Simple Home Seasoning and I have a dish that has great flavor and feels more sophisticated than my kids -ha! It’s something we regularly grab to flavor our chicken, pork, and steak. It’s great over rice, quinoa, corn or baked asparagus. This seasoning is seriously compatible with most everything.

  • 4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir to mix.
  2. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
