Fresh Simple Charcuterie Board

There are so many times that I have a gathering scheduled or an event to attend and remember at the last minute that I was supposed to bring something! I don’t have the time to bake something either. That’s where the Fresh Simple Charcuterie board comes into play. Customize with whatever you have on hand! I almost always have 80% of what’s on this board somewhere in the fridge or pantry. It’s a great way to appease so many different tastes all on one plate.

What should be on a charcuterie platter?

This is where you can let your creative side shine. One of my favorite parts about creating a charcuterie board is that I don’t think I have ever made two exactly alike! It is such an easy appetizer to cater specifically towards your audience! Will kids be enjoying it with you? Add plenty of cheese, crackers and veggies. Do you have a vegan in the group? Vegan cheese, nuts and fruit. You can make this however you would like, and the best part… no one will know if you forgot to put something on the board! 😉

How do you say charcuterie board?

This word makes me laugh…. I know, I need to grow up. I have heard it said just about every way possible, but everyone knows what you are talking about 🙂 bring on the meat, cheese and nuts! In English, the word charcuterie sounds like “shar-coo-tare-ree,” with the stress on “coo.” In French it’s basically the same except the stress is on “ree.”

How to make our Fresh Simple Charcuterie Board:

Once your serving board is out, place your pre-packaged items, such as the Boars Head Hummus and bowl of olives where you’d like. This is always when we place our Chia Jam as well.

Next, slice your cheeses and lay all of them about. This is 100% artistry on your part. Start with bigger items that don’t move and build from there.

Next, we place our dried mango and pickled okra. Be sure to pat the okra dry, as well as any other wet ingredients so the flavors don’t contaminate surrounding items.

Last, fill in holes with small items such as nuts, chocolate chips, apricots, dates – any smaller items. You are done! Serve!
