I love this recipe for a lot of reasons. One is the fact that there are minimal ingredients. Second is because it is so simple to make. And third, because the taste is incredible! This goes to prove that you don’t have to sacrifice taste for ease. You get a win-win with this one!
What is Everything Bagel Seasoning made up of?
Everything Bagel seasoning is a mixture of common ingredients most people probably have in their spice cabinet right now. The most common recipe includes poppy seeds, toasted sesame seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, and salt. Typically, all the ingredients are measured out evenly, except for the salt, which is slightly less.
What is panko?
Panko is a Japanese break crumbs. They are made from white bread without the crusts. This results in a lighter, airier bread crumb that absorbs less grease and stays crispier for longer than their traditional counterparts. Thats what makes it so great for baking in recipes like this.
Ingredients for our Everything Bagel Chicken Bake:
- Panko Bread Crumbs
- Everything Bagel Seasoning
- Chicken Tenderloins
- Butter
How to make our Everything Bagel Chicken Bake:
Preheat the oven to 400 F. In a shallow bowl, melt the butter completely. In a separate bowl, combine the panko crumbs and the Everything Bagel Seasoning. (If you want to make your own seasoning, I have a great recipe right <HERE> )
Rinse and pat the chicken tenderloin until they are dry. One at a time, dip and fully coat the chicken in butter, then the seasoning mix. Place on a greased cooking sheet. Repeat until all chicken is gone.
Occassionally, the butter can run out before the meat. If so, just melt a little more and continue until all the chicken is on the cooking sheet.
Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken is at least 165 F.
Remove from oven and allow it to sit for 3-5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

This sounds great but I was just wondering, Is there a reason to use butter instead of egg to coat the chicken? I don’t cook a lot so if there is it isn’t apparent to me but I try to limit dairy here lol.
Thanks!
You can absolutely substitute the butter out and add egg in its place. I just like the taste that butter offers! It will still taste yummy if you use egg in its place 🙂
Very unique recipe never before I have ever tried such a beautiful and delicious recipe. My kids loved it a lot and so did my husband. All of them really appreciated me which made me very happy all credit goes to you.
I am so glad you and your family enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback!
You will need to brown it for awhile under broiler to get it to brown.
I do find if you bake on the rack above middle, it browns perfectly! Thanks for your feedback!
I’ve got to try this…
I hope you do! It’s easy and delicious!
Happened to see a container of “Everything Bagel” at Costco and thought of this recipe I had seen on line. Have shared this recipe again and again. It’s now a staple and favorite at our house, and several friends as well. Use eggs or butter, or egg beaters depending on possible dietary issues. Used all and it’s always great. Thank you for sharing!
So glad you enjoyed!
